Premsakhi Kala Mandir: Vision, Action, and Inspiration

Vision:To cultivate a vibrant community where everyone is empowered to explore and express their artistic potential.

To celebrate the transformative power of classical Indian art forms (singing, dancing, music) as a path to self-discovery and inner harmony.

To create a space that fosters a connection between artistic expression and the wisdom of ancient Indian traditions.

Inspiration: Premanand Swami, a devout saint, sang hymns praising Swaminarayan. His music was so powerful, it moved even the greatest musicians. Over four thousand hymns he composed, showcasing his immense devotion.

Action:Offer classes and workshops in classical singing, dancing, and music playing for all ages and experience levels.

Provide a nurturing and supportive environment for students to learn, practice, and grow as artists.

Organize performances and events that showcase the talents of our students and celebrate the beauty of Indian classical arts.

Integrate the teachings of the Sanskrit verse (Sाहित्यसंगीतकलाविहीनः…) into the curriculum, highlighting the importance of artistic expression in a fulfilling life.

वेदानां सामवेदोऽस्मि Among the Vedas, I am the Sama Veda. Bhagavad Gita 10.22

Brings People Together: Even though ancient Indian writings don’t directly say this, famous stories like the Ramayana and Mahabharata show people from different places bonding over music.

Helps Kids with Feelings: The oldest Indian scriptures, the Vedas, talk about learning four things, one of which is music (Samaveda). Music helps kids express their feelings in a healthy way.

Smarter Brains: An ancient Indian law book, Manusmriti (be aware it has some outdated views), says learning different things like crafts and music (Gayanam) is good for your brain (Buddhi) – like making it sharper!
